FROM THE EAST
Greetings Brethren,
I want to thank everyone who came out to our stated in February. The lecture on Philosophy was informative and fun.
This month, Pastor Larry Pate is going to give us a lecture on "Mans relationship to God ". This non-sectarian talk will explore our ties to the Grand Architect of the Universe. I hope to see you there.
Also please note: the Wines of Washington has been moved to August 2nd and will be held in the parking lot of Defiance Lodge No. 22 located in the Proctor district at 3819 North 27th Street, Tacoma..
Please come one and all to our visitation to Parkland Lodge on March 12, at 7:00. Also this is our month for our Ladies Club. They will be having a fun exercise to do, so invite your lady for dinner and the program.
There is a new on-line resource for Masonic information. It is on the web at: www.PCMASONICALLIANCE.COM. On the site, you will find a listing of almost every Masonic event that is happening in Pierce County for the current and upcoming year.
Finally, my brethren, we are going to have some fun this month. Fairweather Lodge is going to challenge another lodge to a Putt Putt golf contest at Tower Lanes on March 21st at 7:00 pm. A good time will be had by all. And because Fairweather’s reputation will be on the line, I urge you to come on out and help us win the day!
See you in Lodge.

FROM THE WEST
The Bible
One of the great Lights in the Order, lies open upon the alter in the center of the lodge. Upon it every Mason takes solemn vows of love, loyalty, chastity and charity; pledging himself to our tenets of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.
The Bible, rich in symbolism, is itself a symbol. That is, a part taken for the whole. It is a sovereign symbol of the Book of Faith, the will of God as man has learned it in the midst of the years – that perpetual revelation of himself which God is making mankind in every land and every age. Thus, by the very honor which Masonry pays to the Bible, it teaches us to revere every book of faith in which man finds help for today and hope for the morrow, joining hands with the man of Islam as he takes an oath on the Koran, and with the Hindu as he makes covenant with God upon the Book that he loves best. For Masonry knows what so many forget, that religions are many, but Religion is one – the life of God in the soul of man and the duty and hope of man which proceed from His essential character.
Masonry sees the Bible as a symbol of that eternal Book of the Will of God knowing that when praying to the Nameless One we are praying to the one God and Father of all. Exodus 3.14: God instructed Moses to say unto the children of Israel, I am hath sent me unto you.

FROM THE NORTH?
Rarely do we hear anything from out of the North but why shouldn’t we? The East, West and South all have a forum and so too should the North. With that said, I want to let you know that if you have anything to express to the readers of “Our Monthly Trestleboard”, the editor will make room for you. Your ideas, comments, suggestions and prose are all welcome so long as it’s fit to print. That’s right, we’ll print it!
From out of the shadows I have the following observations: We need as a Lodge to assess the condition of, or the lack of the Lodge’s furnishings. From afar they don’t look too bad but if you’ve looked at them close up they’re showing a lot of wear. I’m not talking about the physical trappings that are provided to us by the Scottish Rite; I’m talking about the furnishings we own and use such as the staffs, the officer’s aprons, the visitors aprons and all of the other items we use in the presentation of degree work. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but when we put on the various degrees some of the items that most lodges use we don’t seem to have or they are missing. One item in particular that I’ve missed and one that I’m sure our lecturer WB Lee Weber also misses is a floor cloth with the winding staircase. I’ve also missed having Masonic Charts available on the Trestleboard. I’m not saying that we need to rush out and purchase new items. I just want us to start thinking about taking care of what we have, fixing that which is broken, finding missing items and start planning for the purchase of the items that we don’t have but would like to have.
Fraternally, WB Larry Anderson
YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS NEEDED
Please provide us with your current email address if you have one. Our database is in the process of being updated and many of the email addresses we have on file aren’t any good. Send a quick email to: Lars@Harbornet.com and you’re done.
Happy Belated Birthday To Our Brothers Born in February
